Introduction
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Japanese speaking proficiency assessment service (“Service”) provided by ii-5 (“we,” “us,” or “our”). Please read them carefully before using the Service.

What we provide
- Japanese speaking proficiency assessment, calibrated across five levels (ii1–ii5)
- Per-construct scoring across five dimensions
- Immediate test results and feedback
- Digital certificate issuance
- Detailed assessment reports
Scope
The Service focuses exclusively on speaking proficiency. It does not assess reading, writing, or listening as standalone skills.

User responsibilities
Account management
- Provide accurate information
- Maintain password security
- Keep account information current
- Prevent unauthorized use
Test conduct
- Take tests personally
- No cheating or fraud
- Test in an appropriate, quiet environment
- Verify your technical setup beforehand
Prohibited activities
- Proxy testing on another person’s behalf
- Unauthorized system access
- Copying or distributing test content
- Commercial misuse
Compliance
- Follow applicable laws
- Adhere to these Terms
- Accept the privacy policy
- Respect public order

Test policies
Administration
Test conditions
- Quiet testing environment
- Stable internet connection
- Device with a working microphone
- Identity verification where applicable
Duration
- Levels ii1–ii2: approximately 15 minutes
- Levels ii3–ii4: approximately 20 minutes
- Level ii5: approximately 25 minutes
- Must complete within the time limit
Evaluation
Submissions are scored across five constructs: Phonological Accuracy, Lexi Flex, Grammatical Control, Discourse Flow, and Situational Tuning. Grading combines a calibrated AI pipeline with certified human review.
Retake policy
You may retake the same level after 72 hours. Standard fees apply for retakes.

Intellectual property

- Sharing your own results and certificates

Limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” without express or implied warranties. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of test results.

Termination
User termination
You may delete your account and stop using the Service at any time. Unused test credits are not refunded upon termination.

Governing law and jurisdiction
- Governing lawThese Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.
- JurisdictionAny disputes arising from these Terms are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court.

Changes to these Terms
